Alexander POBLADOR

Introduction

Alexander Poblador is the founding partner and chairman of the ExCom of Poblador Bautista & Reyes (PBR), one of the leading law firms in the Philippines. He has consistently been cited as a recommended or leading lawyer in the fields of dispute resolution, real estate, banking and finance in the Philippines.

He was cited as a leading corporate dispute resolution lawyer of the year in the Philippines by Lawyer International Legal 100 (2020 and 2021) and by Global 100 (2021). He was named by Asian Legal Business (Thompson Reuters) as dispute resolution lawyer of the year in the Philippines (2021) and one of Asia’s Top 15 Litigators (2021). In his area of practice, he represents the San Miguel Group of Companies, the Ayala Group of Companies, SM Development Corporation, National Grid Corporation of the Philippines, PepsiCo, United Overseas Bank, and Bank of Commerce, among other companies.

Poblador graduated from the University of the Philippines, AB Political Science, cum laude in 1974, and LLB, cum laude and class valedictorian in 1978. He placed third in the 1978 bar examinations. He obtained his LLM (DeWitt Fellow) at the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor in 1982.

He sits on the board of several corporations, including the board of directors of San Miguel Corporation. He is a member of the Philippine International Centre for Conflict Resolution of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines.
