Introduction
Dato Andri Aidham Badri, with over three decades of legal practice, specialises in banking, finance, energy and renewable energy law. He began his career in the judicial and legal service, where he served as federal counsel, advising and representing the Malaysian government in civil litigation across all court levels, focusing on administrative law, tort, land matters, and contractual disputes. Occasionally, Aidham Badri accepts briefs on appellate matters.
Currently, he is the managing partner of Kadir Andri & Partners, a boutique law firm in Kuala Lumpur renowned for its corporate and finance practice. He leads the firm’s banking and finance team, handling complex legal issues related to both conventional and Islamic finance, particularly in infrastructure and energy project financing. His expertise extends to mergers of exchanges, digital banking, IPOs, independent power producer proposals, and EPCC contracts. He has played a crucial role in structuring project finance for solar and small hydro projects, reflecting the firm’s commitment to advancing sustainable energy in Malaysia.

Aidham Badri himself was a member of the Law Revision Committee on Islamic Banking and Finance of the Central Bank of Malaysia and contributed to various sub-committees, including the Review of Contracts Act and the Islamic Capital Market working group of the Securities Commission. His special interest in Islamic finance has placed the firm in a strong position on the development of new Islamic finance products and documentation as well as the setting up of new banks and financial intermediaries in Malaysia.
In addition to his legal practice, Aidham Badri is a published author and registered adjudicator listed with the Asian International Arbitration Centre.
