The Competition Appellate Tribunal (COMPAT) has set aside a Competition Commission of India (CCI) order which penalized the Indian Jute Mills Association (IJMA) for forming a cartel with the Gunny Traders Association (GTA) to fix prices and control production of jute bags. A total of 25 officers of IJMA were also penalized for overseeing IJMA’s conduct during the period of investigation.
