The Business School of China University of Political Science and Law in Beijing has announced the establishment of the China Research Centre of Corporate Legal Affairs Management, with the aim of “understanding the real needs of legal affairs management in China and providing assistance to Chinese corporate legal counsel to cope with the many challenges facing them”.
The centre’s new director, Ye Xiaozhong, told China Business Law Journal his research team consists of experienced senior legal counsel from Chinese and foreign multinational companies, as well as experts in the legal affairs management field.
Ye said the guiding principle for the centre, which was formed in May, is “resolving legal issues using management methodology”. Topics for research include: study and establishment of the science of corporate legal affairs management; finding solutions for major issues existing in legal affairs management; and the study of operational technology to provide Chinese companies with methodology and tools to manage corporate affairs more effectively. In addition to research, the centre will provide Chinese companies with legal affairs management-related services such as consulting, training, research projects, information services and audits.
