Karan Singh Chandhiok heads the dispute resolution and competition law practice at Chandhiok & Mahajan. He represents clients before various courts, arbitral tribunals and regulators in India. He also has extensive experience in advising airlines and lessors on contentious and non-contentious matters, and on the financing and regulatory aspects of aviation in India. In addition, Karan regularly acts for corporate clients in internal investigations, government and regulatory investigations, and enforcement actions.

Karan has been recognized by Chambers and Partners, Who’s Who Legal, the International Financial Law Review as a leading lawyer in India. Recently, Karan was featured in Global Competition Review’s “40 under 40” list of leading practitioners across the globe. Karan is a non-governmental adviser to the International Competition Network.In 2011, he advised the Competition Commission of India on the merger control regulations and went on to take an active role in the committee on the National Competition Law Policy.

He is the co-chair of the ASSOCHAM – National Council on Competition Law, former chair of the Indian National Bar Association’s Young Lawyer Division, and treasurer of the Competition Law Bar Association. Karan has a bachelor of civil law (BCL) degree from the University of Oxford. He is admitted as an advocate in India and as a solicitor in England and Wales.
