In the field of insolvency and bankruptcy, Anoop has represented clients across various capacities, including resolution professionals, committee of creditors and resolution applicants. He has also represented various resolution applicants, foreign portfolio investors, Indian and foreign private equity players and other strategic investors in evaluating investment through debt, equity and/ or other synthetic instruments in Indian opportunities and strategizing the investments inter alia for such investors, through asset reconstruction companies and other partners.
He advised lenders of Bhushan Steel Ltd and was instrumental in the successful insolvency resolution of the company, which resulted in the take over of Bhushan Steel by Tata Steel at an aggregate consideration of ₹352 billion. He leads the firm’s legal advisory team involved in insolvency resolution process of large telecom companies such as Aircel and Reliance Communications Ltd. Anoop has represented various resolution applicants, foreign portfolio investors, Indian and other strategic investors in evaluating investment through debt instruments in Indian opportunities and strategizing the participation inter alia for such investors, through asset reconstruction companies and other partners. Additionally, Anoop has worked extensively in the railways, real estate, mining, power and airport sector projects in addition to advising on financing and setting up public private partnership projects. He also has advised banks and financial institutions in marquee financing transactions, including advising the consortium led by Power Finance Corporation Ltd on a ₹40.50 billion deal for the resolution of debt of RattanIndia India Power Limited under the RBI’s Prudential Framework for resolution of stressed assets.
