European intellectual property (IP) consultancy firm Awapatent has appointed Lim Ai-leen as the CEO and principal counsel of its Asian arm, coinciding with the February opening of its Hong Kong and Beijing offices.
Lim, a Hong Kong and UK solicitor who is also admitted as an advocate and solicitor in Singapore, will manage AWA Asia, Awapatent’s newly registered firm in Hong Kong and Beijing.
A team of six senior lawyers and IP professionals will join Lim in AWA Asia to guide Western clients on Asian IP issues, as well as counselling Asian clients in respect of European IP issues by collaborating with Awapatent’s global network through 14 European offices.
