Introduction

Qualified in Western Australia, Richard Stapley-Oh has been living and practising law in Southeast Asia since 2007. Prior to that, Richard worked in Perth, Australia for a premier Australian (now magic circle) law firm. As the Managing Partner for KPMG’s member law firm in Vietnam and Cambodia, Richard is responsible for the day-to-day operations of KPMG Law, one of Vietnam’s leading law practices. Richard is concurrently KPMG in Vietnam and Cambodia’s General Counsel and Head of Infrastructure.

Richard has extensive experience in advising on a broad range of corporate and commercial engagements and cross-border M&A transactions, with significant experience in acting for both sellers and purchasers in transactions in Vietnam, Singapore, Indonesia, Australia, Hong Kong and the Philippines, with a particular focus on the real estate, manufacturing and mining sectors. Richard also has experience in acting for clients in respect of limited and non-recourse financing and general corporate finance transactions, commercial litigation, international arbitration, and insolvency.

Attentive to detail, commercially minded and results-oriented, Richard thrives on exceeding clients’ expectations while maintaining a professional yet personable approach.
