Introduction

Scott Macdonald is the global head of the finance practice at Maples and Calder, the Maples Group’s law firm, and is based in the Cayman Islands office. He has extensive experience in collateralised loan obligations (CLOs) and other structured finance transactions, including repack programmes, structured funds and fund derivative products.

He also advises on fund financing and is head of the Cayman Islands Stock Exchange listing group. Scott also advises on the application of the Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA) and the Common Reporting Standard (CRS), anti-money laundering and economic substance in the structured finance sector. Scott has been listed as a leading lawyer by IFLR1000, a leading individual in the Legal 500 and ranked in Chambers Global.
