Introduction
Lorna Patajo-Kapunan is a graduate of the University of the Philippines, with degrees in AB Political Science (1973) and LLB (1978). An active practitioner of law since 1978, she is currently the senior partner of Kapunan & Castillo Law Offices.
Although known for litigating high profile cases, her legal expertise includes licensing, franchising, joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions, international humanitarian law, family and estate law, and entertainment law.
She is an Outstanding Women in the Nation’s Service awardee in corporate law and is a 1988 bar examiner in the same field. She was awarded as one of the Top 100 lawyers in the Philippines last 2018 and 2019. In 2019, she was awarded by the Filipina Women’s Network as one of the Top 100 Most Influential Filipina Women Leaders in the world. Kapunan writes for the Business Mirror (Legally Speaking) and hosts an advocacy program at DWIZ (Laban Para Sa Karapatan).
