Introduction
Sonya Benemerito-Castillo has been a practicing lawyer for over 25 years and currently heads the litigation and intellectual property departments at Kapunan & Castillo Law Offices where she is a founding partner.
As the head of the Litigation Department, Sonya has spearheaded several high-profile cases in the fields of civil and family cases, criminal, corporate, labour, and intellectual property laws.
Prior to starting her career at Dela Rosa Nograles Law Offices in 1998, Sonya was an attorney at the Philippine Deposit Insurance Corporation. In August 2000, Sonya joined Roco Kapunan Migallos & Luna Law Offices where her practice expanded and her prowess in legal practice has been established. By 2006, Sonya co-founded Kapunan Lotilla Flores Garcia & Castillo Law Offices.
Sonya is a member of the Business Professional Women, the ASEAN Intellectual Property Association, the Intellectual Property Association of the Philippines, and the Asian Patent Attorney’s Association.
